It's officially April and the weather is finally warming up which means looks with less layers! I started my day out in this outfit including the coat and by the end of the day it was warm enough without it.
The polka dot top is a Portofino shirt from Express. These come in every color of the rainbow, different patterns and shades. I highly recommend everyone have some of these in their closet. Especially if you are college age and just starting to build your adult wardrobe. These can be worn to work with a pencil skirt or dress pants and worn with jeans for a casual look.
The black pants are actually black cotton jeggings from American Eagle. They can easily be switched out with black skinny dress pants for this look. I consider these jeggings just a step up from leggings. They go with everything and are just as comfortable as leggings but have a fly, button and back pockets. These jeggings are definitely a staple in my wardrobe.
These shoes are from Forever 21 and are a blush color. They are sold out online right now but might still be available in store. I previously said buy a half size down but I take that back after wearing them again. Buy true to size and check online to sign up for notifications when they get more in. These are UNDER $15!!!
These pieces can all be mixed and matched throughout a wardrobe and can easily pair with many options. The great thing about basic pieces in black and white is that they can be style with ANY color. The color of the moment is blush/ light pink which creates a feminine look with the polka dots. Any color would look great with black and white and give the outfit some life. Using the accessories to add color is also a great way to update the look. These pieces will last well into the next season.
Let me know how you style your black and white favorites!
