We all make mistakes, right? I made a pretty big one on my hair a few months ago and caused some serious damage. It’s all about how you recover though so here’s how I’m slowwwly repairing my hair.
I’m still using heat and bleach but I’ve made a few changes and I’m already seeing my hair getting healthier. When I got my hair done the last time my hair stylist did an Olaplex treatment on the ends to start it off. I bought the Olaplex at home treatment that I’ve used before along with this treatment mask from R+Co to try out.
The first thing is to STOP washing your hair. I’ve been really taking a hit for the hair by letting it get really dirty and only washing twice a week max. When I’m not washing it I live off of this dry shampoo and make sure I use a thermal protection spray before curling it.
On wash days I alternate between the Olaplex pre treatment or the R + Co one. The Olaplex treatment you put in damp hair before your shower and I usually leave it on for an hour so it’s a little more of a process. The R +Co treatment goes on dry hair for 15 minutes and I’ve even put it in before going to the gym so it’s a lot easier to use. It can also be used as a deep conditioner after shampooing so there’s a lot of ways to do it that are mess free. After the pre treatment I shampoo and condition like normal and follow it up with this leave in conditioner after my shower.
Once my hair dries a little I follow up with my usual styling products. I let my hair air dry after washing and I only use heat every other day and avoid it as much as possible. Damaging your hair is not a great experience but there’s hope. These products will also keep your hair healthy and strong!
